Information on Domestic Violence Awareness Month
In 1995, the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NRCDV) convened several national domestic violence organizations – the Family Violence Prevention Fund, the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the National Domestic Violence Hotline and later the National Network to End Domestic Violence – to launch a new effort to support domestic violence programs’ awareness and education efforts for Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), observed annually in October. The collaborative effort became the Domestic Violence Awareness Project (DVAP).

  1. I spent 7 years in shelters filming and I will for the rest life. Shelters that break the Cycle of Violence and are Safe Havens that women, teens, and children seek refuge. Humanity is the most important thing in this world. We need to start living that way of life. Solo you know I think so highly of you.

  2. I recently had the pleasure of meeting the producer and director of this very moving film, soon to première in New York City. She is a beautiful woman, inside and out. Her name is Jacquelyn Aluotto, an activist, and advocate for the rights of women and children who are victims of domestic violence.

I have been so inspired by jacquelyn Aluotto, the most sincere filmmaker and person i know. I only met her a couple of months ago and that meeting has turned my life around. As founder of the Supermodels Hall of Fame, a fundraising event, and planned TV Special to raise money for the various causes of the honorees, I was looking for a worthy cause to sponsor, myself and to introduce to my circle of fashion an beauty experts.

Jacquelyn once said ” I don’t know how people ignore these issues and I don’t know how people don’t know about these issues. But they don’t know. It is our job to make people aware and want to learn and inspire people to help us make a difference”.

I am so happy and honored to be able to help Jacquelyn and her team, in any way I can.

  3. I really enjoy your blog, Solo Dove.
