Emerge! 2011 Runway Showcase New York Fashion Week #NYFW

On Tuesday I attended the Emerge! Runway Showcase– during New York Fashion Week which showcased some of the best new designers in the country! The Broad Street Ballroom served as the venue and featured four designers collection throughout the evening. Before the show there was the awards portion where the Fashion Innovator Award was presented. Each season Emerge! presents the coveted Fashion Innovator Award which is given to a legendary individual who has made a difference in the New York Fashion industry. That night the award was given to Constance C.R. White, Editor-in-Chief of ESSENCE Magazine. Designer Tracy Reese presented the award. White is a noted journalist, editor, author, culture and style expert whose work and accolades extend from a long list of top publications including The New York Times, Elle Magazine, Women’s Wear Daily, W magazine, British Vogue and Glamour.

The Collections featured –

Borris Powell of Borris Powell Designs, Oscars® Designer Challenge 2011 Winner

Kirk Johnson of b.-Vain Couture

Adriana Osorio Lugo of Adriana Osorio Lugo Designs

Berny Martin of Catou Designs

It’s always nice seeing new designers given the chance to showcase their talent. I rather enjoyed Borris Powell’s collection. Though all of the designers did a wonderful job. I do have some video from the show. But here are few pictures for now.
