Networking Adventures | Carol’s Daughter New Monoi Repairing Collection


This past Friday I attended the Carol’s Daughter meet-up centered around their new collection of hair products. We met at the Georgia Salon in NYC.

The salon itself is very nice. Not only can you get your hair done but do a bit of shopping. From hair products, handbags, and soaps. You can find a little something extra at Georgia.

The event was focused around Carol’s Daughter new collection of hair products Monoi. This collection a for repairing hair.  The line contains a sulfate free shampoo, conditioner, and a hair mask. According to their studies after one use will stop breakage up to 96%.  Monoi oil is an oil found in Tahiti that goes through this 15 day process to get made. Creator of Carol’s Daughter Lisa Price spent 3 years crafting this new line. And from the ladies that got to try out the line it was 3 yrs well spent. Carol’s Daughter is also going through a rebranding. With new packaging and new spokeswomen. Including Cassie and Soloange Knowles. Nia Long and Jada Pinkett are also supporters of Carol’s Daughter. The good thing about this event was that attendees got to try out the product than and there so you were able to get instant feedback. Some top YouTube natural hair bloggers where in attendance.  Key thing when throwing events is to have influencers at your event, those people whole will be your brand evangelist to their followers. Everyone at the event left with a sample to try out the product.  For a beauty invite this is key.
Georgia Salon was a good venue spot for this event since they already carry Carol’s Daughter products and have a wide range of clientele who will be further exposed to the new Monoi collection.  Plus for those that have never been there like myself I was able to see the beauticans in action as well as meet the owner of the salon.
Networking was pretty easy at this event. Natural haired ladies love to talk products or natural hair care, which is great. Those conversations usually lead to other topics, easy networking.
